Full Workshop Title:  Developing Independence with Historical Thinking Skills

Description:  Using concepts from the fields of cognitive science and culturally responsive teaching in conjunction with resources rom the New Visions for Public Schools Social Studies Curriculum, participants will learn strategies for helping students to contextualize and source documents independently.  This workshop will discuss the use of formative assessment, feedback tools, instructional routines, and intentional descaffolding to help students meet expectations on the framework aligned Regents Exams and beyond.
