A PRACTICAL APPROACH TO REGAINING RELEVANCE AND ENJOYMENT
Are you a Global History teacher who would like to teach again? What knowledge and skills do our students really need to be successful in today’s world, and how can we guide them in their learning and development? PARRE is a committee of the Central New York Council for the Social Studies that plans to meet once a month to develop a student-centered, engaging, relevant approach to promote student achievement in Global History I and II.
PARRE will meet one Wednesday per month from September 2013 through April 2014, from 4:30 to 6:00. Participation at all meetings is expected. We are looking for currently active teachers with one or more of the following traits:
Imagination and Creativity
Knowledge of Global Content and Assessment
Familiarity with the proposed Framework and Common Core State Standards
Space on the committee is limited, so if you are interested in joining us, please send an email to that effect to either Doug Pelton at email@example.com, or John Langdon at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please advise us of your interest no later than April 23, and in doing so, please specify whether you would like to work with 9th grade or 10th grade material.
